Nubian Trotter
THIS BREED IS IMPORT/BREEDING ONLY FOR PHARAOH LEVEL, AND POINT/REQUEST FOR DEITY STATUS. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE DEITIES AND PHARAOHS WITHOUT MY PERMISSION!!!!!!!
It is written on ancient tablets about the magnificent mounts of the Old Kingdom Egyptians, a breed older than the Arabian. In fact, this breed is the founders of modern Arabian horses. They were said to be a gift from the gods themselves, and it is proven by some of the breed being exceptionally gifted. Nubians are swift, agile, strong and surefooted on all terrain, from desert sands, to the sides of the great pyramids themselves, to the lush and moist wetlands of the Nile delta. Because of this, the breed was highly prized and worshipped. When the great drought hit Egypt, taking the civilization to its knees, the breed all but vanished, and was thought to be extinct. Now, millennia later, and their original breed name forgotten, the Nubian Trotter has reappeared and is growing in popularity.

There are four subtypes to the breed, but they all share some similarities. All Nubians have overly large ears, for keeping cool in the desert heat. Their legs are long, making for an elegant and long stride. Their body is rather short, but lean, making them look sleek. Their tail bone is longer, stretching to the hock at the longest. Their eyes are large and intelligent, framed by long lashes. They have a third eyelid that is used to cover and protect the eye from sandstorms. They all have some form of eye marking; specific colors will be described under the tiers of the breed. All Nubians can survive on cacti and desert grasses; they drink morning dew and have an uncanny knack for finding hidden waterholes and underground wells. A Nubian is not suited for heavy pulling, small chariots at the most. They are amazing in the gaited shows, dressage, endurance, and especially racing.

Commoner

The lowest tier of the breed is the Common Nubian. A commoner is very plain compared to the other types, but still beautiful none the less. They are smaller, standing from 14 to 16 hands high. They display all the characteristics listed above with the following:
* Black eye markings only.
* Coat colors accepted: Black to DARK blonde/sand. Black points and bay markings acceptable. NOTHING light colored, except a small stripe on the face.
* Short, coarse mane and tail, black to copper all one color, can grey as the horse ages.
* Brown to amber eyes.
* Mortal.
* 80% of Nubians born are commoners.

Pharaoh

Pharaoh is the next level of the Nubian breed. The Pharaoh is only a title, having to do with their coloration. There can be females. These animals are taller, standing anywhere from 15 to 17 hands high, and are a bit more muscular. They have all the standard traits with the following:
* Always a dual colored mane and tail, black to copper and either gold or a gem color.
* Longer, silkier and softer mane and tail.
* Slight golden sheen to hooves.
* Gold eyeliner
* May have Egyptian collar and bracer like markings.
* NO Ankhs or Hieroglyphics.
* 19% born are Pharaohs.

Deity

Legend has it that, if needed or if they are simply bored, the gods will choose to step into an unborn foal and be born as a Nubian. This is very rare, and only one per deity can be around at a time. Ra, Isis and Osiris NEVER become horses. When the foal is born, it looks like a commoner or Pharaoh, however, they have a golden Ankh on their chest. The traits of a deity changes depending on the deity. Acceptable deities are:
* Amun - Emo-Ninja-Kiriai
* Anput
* Anubis – Dragon's Aery Stables
* Anuket -  Mountain View Studios
* Apophis
* Aten
* Babi
* Bastet – Solar Feline Fields
* Bes
* Geb
* Hathor -  EclipsetheShadow
* Heket
* Horus – DemiWolfe-Stables
* Kebechet
* Khepri
* Khmun
* Khonsu - Emo-Ninja-Kiriai
* Ma'at – Knox Farms
* Mafdet
* Nephtyrs
* Nekhbet
* Nut
* Ptah – Knox Farms
* Sekhmet – Dragon's Aery Stables
* Serqet
* Seshat
* Set
* Shu
* Sobek
* Tawaret
* Thoth
* Wadjet
1% may become a deity.

Mummy

The fourth and final type to this breed is the rarest. These are the undead Nubians, mummies. Only a Pharaoh or a deity may become a mummy. These are created when either a Pharaoh or a deity dies, embalmed, and is raised; if the bond between horse and handler is too strong and prevents rest; sometimes found in ancient tombs; or the animal has unfinished business. Some deities, one being Anubis, has a "living" form and a mummy form. Nubian mummies look as they did in life stature wise, but their appearance drastically changes. A mummy, when unwrapped, will appear withered and emaciated, the ears, nostrils and lips are dry and cracked, their manes and tails are coarse, and their hooves cracked. Color wise, they may still have their original living color, but most of the time they're a brown/gray. Their eyes become black pits, though rarely they glow with a golden light (Deities only). However, running across an unwrapped Nubian mummy NEVER happens. Their wrappings are beige to dark brown, depending on age. Most of the animal is covered, but there can be the occasional glimpse of dried flesh. Hanging from, tangled in, and dragging behind the horse, in their wrappings, are canopic jars. These jars hold the horse's organs from the embalming process. A golden Ankh necklace usually, not always, hangs from the neck.

Breeding

Breeding a Nubian Trotter is very simple. Pure Mummies, not like Anubis, are completely sterile, they cannot breed. Deities WILL NOT PASS ANY OF THEIR POWER, however, a deity will produce a Pharaoh, no matter what they're bred with, even the occasional halfbreed Pharaoh exists. Nubians usually will only breed with another Nubian, but there have been cases of half breeds. ASK me before each breeding so I can approve it.

Deity x Deity = Pharaoh
Deity x Pharaoh = Pharaoh
Deity x Commoner = Pharaoh
Deity x ANYTHING ELSE = Possible half breed Pharaoh, depends on other parent.

Pharaoh x Pharaoh = Pharaoh
Pharaoh x Commoner = 40% Pharaoh, 60% Commoner

Anything else, will be commoner level.
The breedsheet has been updated, and the breed is now open as adoptables are coming TODAY! Please link back to the breedsheet if you make a Nubian.
